Happy new year everyone..
stay happy and blessed always.......

memories for 2008..

welcome 2009 / happy new year everyone! by ms.donnalee / donna cleveland

First of all, I want to greet you all a very happy new year and welcome to the year of the ox-2009. As I recalled what had happened to my previous years, I could say that I have accomplished lots of things and I want to thank God for all the bountiful blessings he had given me. First of all, I'm glad that I'm still here writing a post and still alive and healthy, then I have my family whom is my treasure- thank God mama hadn't been into serious hospitalization this year, next is that I still have my job and actually it was this year that our salary was increased though we didn't received bonuses this Christmas, next is that I still got to accompany the mass during Sundays though I'm working on a hospital shift, then I have discovered blogging- thanks to my good friend sheng who introduced me to it.... blogging had helped me a lot express my thoughts and most especially earn extra bucks which I then shared to my parents. I just wish this thing would still continue this year and more prosperous I guess, lol!

For all the graces that I received from the previous year, thank you Lord and may you continue to shower more blessings for 2009- good health for all, happiness, contentment, peace, love and abundance in everything...and may we live in peace and harmony all through out the coming years.

New Year Blessings !

Happy New Year! by Powi ** Happy New Year to all Flickr buddies **

Dear Friends,

May you get a clean bill of health from your dentist, your cardiologist, your gastro-enterologist , your urologist, your proctologist, your podiatrist, your psychiatrist, your plumber and the I.R.S.

May your hair, your teeth, your face-lift, your abs and your stocks not fall; and may your blood pressure, your triglycerides, your cholesterol, your white blood count and your mortgage interest not rise.

May New Year's Eve find you seated around the table, together with your beloved family and cherished friends. May you find the food better, the environment quieter, the cost much cheaper, and the pleasure much more fulfilling than anything else you might ordinarily do that night .

May what you see in the mirror delight you, and what others see in you delight them. May someone love you enough to forgive your faults, be blind to your blemishes, and tell the world about your virtues.

May the telemarketers wait to make their sales calls until you finish dinner. May the commercials on TV not be louder than the program you have been watching, and may your check book and your budget balance - and include generous amounts for charity.

May you remember to say "I love you" at least once a day to your spouse, your child, your parent, your siblings; but not to your secretary, your nurse, your masseuse, your hairdresser or your tennis instructor.

And may we live in a world at peace and with the awareness of God's love in every sunset, every flower's unfolding petals, every baby's smile, every lover's kiss, and every wonderful, astonishing, miraculous beat of our heart.

Happy New Year po sa Lahat.

Few hours from now and 2008 will be over, soon we will be welcoming 2009 but not with blast and colorful lights in the sky (it's because davao city was not allowed to use any form of firecrackers to prevent injuries) but we do have other alternatives like turutot, car horns and mga palangana..hehehe... But so much for that I'll post what will happen later becuase I'm still going on a 3-11 shift. And I must hurry home to be with my mom and dad to celebrate new Year... ahhh I just hope this coming year would be more fun, exciting, more opps i guess hehehe..and success stories... see you soon guys, for now I'll be preparing things for today's affair.

A time to reminisce the past...
a time to get acquainted with good old pals...
and just enjoying the time together...

The Joy of Giving

Reggie’s brother gave him an automobile as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve Reggie came out of his office, and saw a street urchin admiring his shiny new car.
"Is this your car, Mister?" he asked.

Reggie nodded in affirmation, "My brother gave it to me for Christmas." The boy was surprised. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you anything? Boy, I wish..." He hesitated. Reggie knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like the one Reggie has. But what the lad said was far beyond Reggie’s expectation.
"I wish," the boy went on, "that I could be a brother like that."

For a few seconds words failed Reggie and then he impulsively added, "Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?"
"Oh yes, I'd love that."

After a short ride, the boy turned towards Reggie. His eyes were glowing and he said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?" Reggie smiled a little. He thought he understood what the lad wanted. He wanted to show it off to his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Reggie was wrong again.

"Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked. He ran up the steps. In a little while Reggie heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little brother who was physically challenged. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn't cost him a cent. And some day I'm going to give you one just like it...then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that I've been trying to tell you about."

Reggie got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. His brother whose eyes were gleaming with joy climbed in beside him and the three of them embarked on a memorable holiday ride.

That Christmas Eve, Reggie learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give..."

Christmas Is a Time for Love and Fun

Christmas is a time for love and fun,
A time to reshape souls and roots and skies,
A time to give your heart to everyone
Freely, like a rich and lavish sun,
Like a burning star to those whose lonely sighs
Show need of such a time for love and fun.

For children first, whose pain is never done,
Whose bright white fire of anguish never dies,
It's time to give your heart to every one,

That not one angel fall, to hatred won
For lack of ears to listen to her cries,
Or arms to carry him towards love and fun,

Or friends to care what happens on the run
To adult life, where joy or sadness lies.
It's time to give your heart to everyone,

For God loves all, and turns His back on none,
Good or twisted, ignorant or wise.
Christmas is a time for love and fun,
A time to give your heart to everyone.

Mistletoe is especially interesting botanically because it is a partial parasite (a "hemiparasite"). As a parasitic plant, it grows on the branches or trunk of a tree and actually sends out roots that penetrate into the tree and take up nutrients. But mistletoe is also capable for growing on its own; like other plants it can produce its own food by photosynthesis. Mistletoe, however, is more commonly found growing as a parasitic plant. There are two types of mistletoe. The mistletoe that is commonly used as a Christmas decoration (Phoradendron flavescens) is native to North America and grows as a parasite on trees in the west as also in those growing in a line down the east from New Jersey to Florida. The other type of mistletoe, Viscum album, is of European origin. The European mistletoe is a green shrub with small, yellow flowers and white, sticky berries which are considered poisonous. It commonly seen on apple but only rarely on oak trees. The rarer oak mistletoe was greatly venerated by the ancient Celts and Germans and used as a ceremonial plant by early Europeans. The Greeks and earlier peoples thought that it had mystical powers and down through the centuries it became associated with many folklore customs.

The Mistletoe Magic : From the earliest times mistletoe has been one of the most magical, mysterious, and sacred plants of European folklore. It was considered to bestow life and fertility; a protection against poison; and an aphrodisiac. The mistletoe of the sacred oak was especially sacred to the ancient Celtic Druids. On the sixth night of the moon white-robed Druid priests would cut the oak mistletoe with a golden sickle. Two white bulls would be sacrificed amid prayers that the recipients of the mistletoe would prosper. Later, the ritual of cutting the mistletoe from the oak came to symbolize the emasculation of the old King by his successor. Mistletoe was long regarded as both a sexual symbol and the "soul" of the oak. It was gathered at both mid-summer and winter solstices, and the custom of using mistletoe to decorate houses at Christmas is a survival of the Druid and other pre-Christian traditions. The Greeks also thought that it had mystical powers and down through the centuries it became associated with many folklore customs. In the Middle Ages and later, branches of mistletoe were hung from ceilings to ward off evil spirits. In Europe they were placed over house and stable doors to prevent the entrance of witches. It was also believed that the oak mistletoe could extinguish fire. This was associated with an earlier belief that the mistletoe itself could come to the tree during a flash of lightning. The traditions which began with the European mistletoe were transferred to the similar American plant with the process of immigration and settlement.

Kissing under the mistletoe : Kissing under the mistletoe is first found associated with the Greek festival of Saturnalia and later with primitive marriage rites. They probably originated from two beliefs. One belief was that it has power to bestow fertility. It was also believed that the dung from which the mistletoe would also possess "life-giving" power. In Scandinavia, mistletoe was considered a plant of peace, under which enemies could declare a truce or warring spouses kiss and make-up. Later, the eighteenth-century English credited with a certain magical appeal called a kissing ball. At Christmas time a young lady standing under a ball of mistletoe, brightly trimmed with evergreens, ribbons, and ornaments, cannot refuse to be kissed. Such a kiss could mean deep romance or lasting friendship and goodwill. If the girl remained unkissed, she cannot expect not to marry the following year. In some parts of England the Christmas mistletoe is burned on the twelfth night lest all the boys and girls who have kissed under it never marry. Whether we believe it or not, it always makes for fun and frolic at Christmas celebrations. Even if the pagan significance has been long forgotten, the custom of exchanging a kiss under the mistletoe can still be found in many European countries as well as in Canada. Thus if a couple in love exchanges a kiss under the mistletoe, it is interpreted as a promise to marry, as well as a prediction of happiness and long life. In France, the custom linked to mistletoe was reserved for New Year's Day: "Au gui l'An neuf" (Mistletoe for the New Year). Today, kisses can be exchanged under the mistletoe any time during the holiday season.

The Legend : For its supposedly mystical power mistletoe has long been at the center of many folklore. One is associated with the Goddess Frigga. The story goes that Mistletoe was the sacred plant of Frigga, goddess of love and the mother of Balder, the god of the summer sun. Balder had a dream of death which greatly alarmed his mother, for should he die, all life on earth would end. In an attempt to keep this from happening, Frigga went at once to air, fire, water, earth, and every animal and plant seeking a promise that no harm would come to her son. Balder now could not be hurt by anything on earth or under the earth. But Balder had one enemy, Loki, god of evil and he knew of one plant that Frigga had overlooked in her quest to keep her son safe. It grew neither on the earth nor under the earth, but on apple and oak trees. It was lowly mistletoe. So Loki made an arrow tip of the mistletoe, gave to the blind god of winter, Hoder, who shot it , striking Balder dead. The sky paled and all things in earth and heaven wept for the sun god. For three days each element tried to bring Balder back to life. He was finally restored by Frigga, the goddess and his mother. It is said the tears she shed for her son turned into the pearly white berries on the mistletoe plant and in her joy Frigga kissed everyone who passed beneath the tree on which it grew. The story ends with a decree that who should ever stand under the humble mistletoe, no harm should befall them, only a kiss, a token of love. What could be more natural than to translate the spirit of this old myth into a Christian way of thinking and accept the mistletoe as the emblem of that Love which conquers Death? Its medicinal properties, whether real or imaginary, make it a just emblematic of that Tree of Life, the leaves of which are for the healing of the nations thus paralleling it to the Virgin Birth of Christ.

Christmas in davao

Perhaps you already know that here in Davao city, we celebrated christmas Season and New Year in solemnly, we don't have fire crackers as this is not permitted. At first it was hard on our part but after few years we have adopted the situation. Instead of using fire crackers, we opt to use pails, car horns or anything that produces sound. And one thing beneficial about prohibiting fire crackers is that no one will get hurt. I'm happy with the thought, and this means no casualties will get harmed and the hospital wont be that busy.

Santa's Prayer on Christmas Eve

merrychristmas.gif (22757 bytes)

By Warren D. Jennings

The sleigh was all packed, the reindeer were fed,
But Santa still knelt by the side of the bed.

"Dear Father," he prayed "Be with me tonight.
There's much work to do and my schedule is tight.

I must jump in my sleigh and streak through the sky,
Knowing full
well that a reindeer can't fly.

I will visit each household before the first light,
I'll cover the world and all in one night.

With sleigh bells a-ringing, I'll land on each roof,
Amid the soft clatter of each little hoof.

To get in the house is the difficult part,
So I'll slide down the chimney of each child's heart.

My sack will hold toys to grant all their wishes.
The supply will be endless like the loaves and the fishes.

I will fill all the stockings and not leave a track.
I'll eat every cookie that is left for my snack.

I can do all these things Lord, only through You,
I just need your blessing, then it's easy to do.

All this is to honor the birth of the One,
That was sent to redeem us, Your most Holy Son.

So to all of my friends, least Your glory I rob,
Please Lord, remind them who gave me this job."

MY Grand Wish this Christmas

Ever since I was a kid, I really loved Christmas and this is the best part of the year. I'm so delighted with Christmas decors, Christmas tree and lights hanging anywhere. And one thing I like during this season is that I get to have lots of present from different people. And one of the many Christmas present I won't forget is the gift that was given to me by Santa Claus.

As I still recalled, when I and my mom where having our window shopping, I heard a very funny voice saying "merry Christmas" and as I followed the voice I saw Santa smiling at me holding a present. He let me sat on his lap and my mom took a picture of us. It was one of my memorable Christmases ever.

While I was hopping through several websites I found an entry about got a wish and what I did, I uploaded a picture of Santa and me. I choose it because I felt special, loved and merry at that time. The scenario was worth reminiscing. I even shared the picture with my little cousin, telling them about the story of Santa. By the way just to give you some information, the uploaded picture was courtesy of CEIVA digital photo frame. Isn't their work great and beautiful? If you want to check further about their works do visit them at and share you're most beautiful picture. Being the Mistress: Is it Worth It?

Falling in love with a married man is something women have been doing for a long time. Being a mistress is nothing new, but is it worth it?

So many women get involved with a married man because he makes promises of leaving his wife and getting into a committed relationship with them, and they usually end up waiting forever for him or end up just being his mistress- nothing more. The first thing you need to do before getting officially involved with a married man is to ask yourself some serious questions. The following questions will help you decide whether or not being a mistress is worth it.

Why a Married Man? It is important that you ask yourself why you would want to get involved with a married man in the first place? There are plenty of single men out there for you to get to know. If you did not know he was married at first, then perhaps you should ask yourself if you would want to get involved with a man who lied to you about his marital status.

Prepared to be Second Priority? One thing you should always keep in mind is that his wife and family will always come before you, no matter how many problems he claims to have at home. Keeping you as his secret mistress is an obvious sign that he is not ready to lose his spouse. If he was, then he would just leave her and be with you, but instead- he has chosen to spare her the pain and embarrassment because he loves her- and will continue to keep you a secret for as long as you let him. Are you ready to be second priority?

Self-Esteem Check. Being a mistress will play a big role on your self-esteem, making you slowly start to feel bad about yourself. You will feel alone and not important, because all you are is a secret mistress- no matter how much he tells you he loves you- you will still not be getting that official healthy committed relationship that you will eventually need and want for yourself. So do not neglect yourself and be sure to do a self-esteem check.

Are you ready to wait a long time? Getting involved with a married man is complicated and the relationship will be filled with repeated promises that will work at first, but will later leave you feeling helpless and restless. He will never just drop his wife and family for you, so ask yourself if you are ready to wait a long time for him to finally finalize his divorce- if he gets one. It is common for men to decide that they want to make their marriage work after all, so are you ready to not just wait a long time, but perhaps even end up not being with him in the end?

These are all essential question that you must answer honestly. Sure, having an affair can be fun, but when that stage of excitement slowly wears off and you enter another stage where you crave that closeness of an official one on one committed relationship, then you will start feeling the stress and pain of being a mistress. There are of course chances that

Experience with Santa Claus

Every person here on Earth, may they be young or adult has got a wish this Christmas Season. Wishes include material things, prosperity, happiness and peace on Earth. But my favorite of all my wishes is to have a chance to sit on Santa's lap and have a picture with him. And as far as I can remember, I was only three year's old when my wish was granted. I was really amazed with his white beard and his fatherly figure. He was very kind and friendly to all people.

As I was very eager to share my picture with Santa with my friends, fortunately I found one great site that have given me the opportunity to upload my favorite picture. If you happen to visit you'll be amazed at how they changed your photo shot into something very dazzling and wonderful. Here's more, if you further check their site you are entitled to join their contest and who knows you might be the lucky winner for the day and win $500. Isn't this great? Now surely you'll have a merry and bountiful Christmas this year. So what are you waiting for? Check their site now for further details of the contest and good luck on posting you're memorable picture with Santa.

Why your Lover won't Commit

Being with a person who avoids commitment is not easy and sometimes can never be changed. There are many people who feel responsible or find ways to blame themselves for their partner not wanting to commit to them. Are you questioning yourself, believing that it is possible that it is something you are doing that is keeping you from getting the commitment you want? It could be, but 9/10 of the times, it is not.

So if it is not you and you and your lover are having a good relationship, then why does he or she not want to fully commit to you? The truth is, there could be a various amount of answers to that question, for it is different for everyone. However, there are common reasons why many people choose not to commit, and that main reason is fear. It could very well be that your partner never really experienced a fully committed relationship, or perhaps they had a particular experience in a past relationship that now has him or her afraid to approach another commitment. There could be deeper reasons, but these are the most common. Another reason many men and women fear commitment is because they are convinced that if they give their lover a full commitment, they will suddenly have their freedom taken away from them, disallowing them to be their true selves or doing the things they like to do and plan to do in the future.

Can you help improve this situation and get your lover to finally commit to you? Yes, there are ways you and your partner can work together in reaching this goal of commitment, but is not something you can achieve all on your own. The best thing you can do if you are involved with someone who cannot commit is to have a talk with him or her about it and ask him or her what exactly is making him or her doubt commitment so much. The next best thing you can do is be patient and give your lover the re-assurance that they are free to be whoever they want to be and that they can continue to do the things they like to do, and continue to plan the plans they have for their personal self. If they still avoid commitment after a while, then perhaps you should go to couple's counseling, or ask yourself just how long you are willing to wait for you lover to pop the big question of commitment!

Are you with someone who cannot commit? Or do you have a problem committing?

Moving on after a Break-up

Did you go through a break-up that left you with a big challenge of moving on? Dwelling on any break-up is not emotionally healthy and keeps you from re-discovering your needs and wants from a relationship. The following tips will help you move on from your break up and guide you into finding love again.

Accept the Reality. Accept the fact that the relationship is over. Do not give yourself unrealistic fantasies that you might get back together one day. Respect the fact that the relationship had its time, but has no ran out ways to work. This was a chapter in your life that has now closed and you are now ready to grow and enter another chapter of your life.

Learn from It. Everything is a learning experience, so use it your advantage! Look over your relationship and list what went good about it and what went wrong. Use these notes as a tool to improve your relationships skills.

Never Generalize. Going through a break up does cause you emotional withdrawal and pain, which may cause you to generalize everyone you meet or choose to date. Keep in mind that everyone is an individual with their own unique qualities and personalities and your encounters with them will not carry the same experiences as your ex-relationship.

Focus on You. Take some time to get to know yourself again before you get involved with someone else. Know what you really need and deserve and what you are ready to give another person. When you are sure about what you are willing to give and to receive, you will be able to find a partner who will suit you well.

Making your Romantic Dreams come True

Are you having the romantic life you have always wanted in your imagination? Welcome to the club that has many members who feel and live exactly the way you do! Romance is always simple and carefree when it is being acted out in our imaginations. We can come up with the most unbelievable and breathtaking ideas and play scenes that make the best romantic movies look amateur. The only catch to all this however, is that they are developed in our fantasies and stay there, without ever actually taking place in our real lives. Why is that? Why is it so easy for us to fantasize about the most amazing romances, but can never find such romances that really exist? Does it just not happen? Is there no such thing?

No, there is no such thing as a romantic dream come true until you create its existence. Thats right, you carry the key that will open the magical door to making all of your romantic dreams come true. What did you expect to find out? That someday an invisible wand will be waved over you, miraculously bringing you and your meant to be honey together? Well, if that is what you are counting on and waiting for, prepare to keep on waiting! Do not get the wrong idea here, of course there are situations where two people meet and have an instant connection, but things do not just stop there. Many make a mistake in believing that once they found someone they make a great connection with, everything else will fall into place perfectly and all of their romantic fantasies will come true automatically.

If you want your fantasies to become a reality, then you must introduce them to reality. Our partners are not mind readers, yet we tend to believe they are, expecting them to act out and the things we picture them doing in our imaginations. You do not necessarily have to ask your partner to act a certain way or do a certain thing, but you can introduce your romantic ideas by starting to act them out yourself. This will paint a clear picture for your partner, helping him or her see what kind of romantic personality you have, and what you enjoy. You will also learn more about your partner, because you will see their response to your romantic suggestions, which is why is it extremely important that you do this at the beginning of your dating process, or in the beginning of your relationship. If you do not, you could very well be setting yourself up for deep disappointment.

Romantic Dreams come true when you make an effort to never settle or anything else than what your genuine expectations are from a person. This does not mean you should never compromise however, for nobody will every perfect, including yourself, so keep in mind that there will be times where you will need to find a middle ground with your lover. Not settling for less is meant more on an obvious level. For example, if your romantic dream is to find a partner who loves long walks on the beach and going out for fancy dining and intimate picnics, then do not even bother getting seriously involved with a person who loves staying at home all the time or going out to loud parties with his or her friends. You will only be frustrated later.

Many people choose to get involved with a person who never really fulfilled their romantic expectations from the start, but feel that things will change as their relationship proceeds. This is a mistake often made and one you should avoid making if you ever wish to live the romance of your dreams. Though people can be unpredictable, a persons hobbies and lifestyle can usually be determined in the early stages of dating after about between 3 and 6 dates. You will be able to observe from your dates if a person carries the qualities you are in search for by paying attention to where they choose to take you on your dates, the way they speak to you, as well as all the other little things that are important to you. It is important that you are also open and honest about your hobbies, lifestyle and romantic qualities so that your date also starts to learn who you really are as a person and can also decided whether or not they feel you are someone they wish to continue dating. If you do not wish to be misled, then do not mislead others either!

Living the romantic life of your dreams is indeed very possible, but requires time, patience and most importantly, being honest with others and yourself about who you really are and what you really want. Accomplishing true romance can only happen when you express yourself freely and confidently. Remember, no one can read your mind and there will be no magical wand that will wave over you. Fate will play a part in who you end up committing to and settling down with, but according for fate to do so, you have to help it out by showing it exactly what it is you are looking for. Fate is like a dating service in a way- in order for it to help you find the right person, you need to give it an honest description of what you are looking for and what you are also not interested it. Once you have done so, stick to it without settling for something you know you will not be 100% satisfied with. In time, you will be living your romantic dream come true with a person who feels the same and the two of you will have the wonderful relationship you have been searching for.

I'm waking up early to attend dawn mass. Have you ever tried to complete it? It would mean a suffering on your part waking up too early but at much lesser compared to the suffering Jesus himself have done for us. And this year I was really happy in spite being a nurse and going on different shift, I still have the opportunity to finish all 9 days novena

Are You Confident or Conceited?

Some mistaken conceitedness for confidence, while other mistaken confidence for conceitedness. This frequent misunderstanding unfortunately interferes in the dating world in a negative way. Communication, while used every day in many different ways, is not an easy skill to master, when done correctly. Most of us go out into the world daily, not thinking much about the message we are sending out about ourselves. What message are you sending out- A confident or conceited one? The answer to this may say a lot about your dating life and can tell you why you are succeeding or failing.

Communication is both verbal and non-verbal. A lot of the impression you give others about yourself is not from what you say verbally, but rather from what you say silently, through your body language. Your bodys language is much louder than the words you verbalize out of your mouth. You can say one thing verbally, but send a completely different language with your body language- and this can determine whether people see you as confident and attractive, or conceited and unapproachable.

Here are some body language descriptions and the message they can send out. Read them and see where you fall into:

Crossed Arms - You may a very confident and friendly person, but if you have a bad habit of crossing your arms (whether you are standing or sitting), you are sending out an unfriendly, insecure and unapproachable message. This can hurt you a lot in the dating world, because many people may find you very attractive, but will not even bother coming up to you because they will assume that you do not want to be bothered, or that you are not a nice person to interact with.

Ground Watching - Looking at the ground when walking is a common thing people do. This is something you should avoid doing, especially if you wish to meet interesting people out there in dating land. Looking down at the ground when you walk delivers a message that you are in your own little world and not concerned with anything or anyone else around it. It could also send out a message that you are really shy and insecure. None of these are impressions you want to give about yourself, so when you walk, keep your head up and eyes focused on your surroundings. You never what or whom you could be missing by looking at the ground!

Looking Straight Ahead - If you are walking outside somewhere, standing in a line or just hanging out in a certain place, be sure not to look straight ahead, looking through everything and everyone in front or around you. You may be feeling great about yourself and may be well dressed, standing tall and looking your best, and while people may acknowledge how great you look, they will not consider you approachable and may in fact think you are conceited and too self-absorbed. The reason they may feel like this, is because when you stare ahead, you are not giving people a chance to get to know. You are not looking around and making eye contact and are not giving warm welcoming smiles that tell others that it is okay to introduce himself/herself to you.

Fake Smiles - People are not stupid and in general can read others pretty well. If you give a cold, fake smile, chances are people will be able to tell and will place you in the category of being a fake person. Do not give short, quick smiles that are not genuine. This will cause you to come off as snobby and no one wants to get involved with someone they believe is self-centered and uncaring. If you encounter someone you do not feel like giving a genuine warm smile to, try your hardest to make the smile as real as possible. Do not give tight lipped smiles, as those come off as being the most fame. Give a quick, partially open mouth smile (with a little teeth) and make eye contact- and then move on before you give a fake vibe!

There a lot of many forms of body language that can give an unfriendly or conceited message, but these three are one of the most common that people use. You may truly be one of the friendliest people and a blast to hang out with, but a lot of people may never get the chance to know this about you if you speak to them with unfriendly body language. You will rob yourself from meeting a lot of great people as well, without even realizing that you are scaring them away. So be more aware of yourself and pay attention to not only how you feel about yourself, but to the way you express your inner feelings and personality. If you are confident and know you are a wonderful beautiful and successful person, express that! Walk with your head up high, smile, acknowledge your surroundings and make eye contact with people. Sit with your arms uncrossed and advertise yourself as a confident, but easy to approach person you just might meet that very special person you have been waiting a very long time for!

Football Fanatic

Ever since I was a kid, I have this passion for outdoor games. And one of my favorite was watching football league through It was so much fun and thrilling. I felt that I was watching the whole game live. I really love sports game as they give you lots of benefits like staying healthy, active and lessen risk of diseases. So I think it's better to watch web tv to learn about this game and you'll even discover how athletic you are.

By the way, I discover that a famous person launched Carlsberg web-tv, actually it is a football web tv channel known as I really loved their show which showcases all aspects about football. Isn't this great? It's like you're watching live games. Hmm, I better informed my cousin who is very inclined to playing football and surely he'll love watching the whole show.

Pagbabahagi 2008 & University Chapel Schedule of Masses Dec 16 2008- Jan 4 2009

I received an email from our beloved President, Fr. Renato Ocampo, SJ

December 11, 2008

Ms. Mary Grace D. Vicente R.N.:

Greetings from the Ateneo de Davao!

Two more weeks and it will be Christmas Day! This coming Tuesday, Dec. 16, Misa de Gallo will usher in in Catholic Churches all over the Philippines and in other Catholic Churches and Chapels where our fellow Filipinos are able to celebrate the Simbang Gabi, this Novena of Dawn Masses in preparation for our celebration of the Solemnity of the Birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In the ADDU Jacinto Campus, our Misa de Gallo will begin at 4:30 o'clock in the morning in the Covered Court. Please see our schedule below.

It is also in the spirit of sharing during this joyful season, that our college students are once again having the traditional Christmas Package Drive which they have called "Pagbabahagi 2008".

With its theme "Ateneans, Let's share with thoughtful hearts this Christmas", I encourage our alumni and friends in Davao to join in this yearly activity on campus that will benefit some depressed families of Barangay 31-D, as well as the families of our security and maintenance personnel on the Jacinto campus. A Christmas love offering box is now in our University Chapel and another box in the main entrance of the Finster building. If you are attending any of the Campus Misas de Gallo, you can also bring your Christmas package in the Offertory procession.

I congratulate the Campus Clubs Organization headed by Ms. Crystal Gale Evaristo; the General Assembly of Class Presidents headed by Ms. Elaine CedeƱo; and the SociaI Involvement and Coordinating Office [SICO] with Mrs. Theresa Eliab-Salaver (BS'91) as Director and Mr. Ian Clark Parcon (AB'98) as Program Officer for continuing this worthy project.

A Blessed and Merry Christmas to all! Fortes in Fide!

For all first timers:

A blog is:

A Blog is short for Web Log. An online journal. A diary that you just happen to share with a potential audience of hundreds of millions of other people. Entries are displayed in reverse chronological order.

Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, webpages and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of most early blogs.

"Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Then Why Blog?

1. To Express Your Thoughts and Opinions

You have something to say, and blogs provide a place to say it and be heard.

2. To Market or Promote Something

Blogging is a great way to help market or promote yourself or your business, product or service.

3. To Help People

Many blogs are written to help people who may be going through similar situations that the blogger has experienced. Many parenting and health-related blogs are written for this purpose.

4. To Establish Yourself as an Expert

Blogs are wonderful tools to help bloggers establish themselves as experts in a field or topic. For example, if you're trying to get a job in a specific field or hoping to publish a book on a specific topic, blogging can help legitimize your expertise and expand your online presence and platform.

5. To Connect with People Like You

Blogging brings like-minded people together. Starting a blog can help you find those people and share your opinions and thoughts.

6. To Make a Difference

Many blogs are issue-based meaning the blogger is trying to provide information to sway people's thinking in a certain direction. Many political blogs and social issues blogs are written by bloggers who are trying to make a difference in their own ways.

7. To Stay Active or Knowledgeable in a Field or Topic

Since successful blogging is partially dependent on posting frequency and providing updated, fresh information, it's a perfect way to help a blogger stay abreast of the events in a specific field or topic.

8. To Stay Connected with Friends and Family

The world has shrunk since the Internet has become more accessible. Blogs provide a simple way for family and friends to stay connected from different parts of the world by sharing stories, photos, videos and more.

9. To Make Money

It's important to point out that most bloggers don't make a lot of money blogging, but the potential does exist to generate revenue from your blog with hard work and commitment. There are many bloggers who bring in big bucks. With patience and practice, you can make money through advertising and other income generating activities on your blog.

10. To Have Fun and Be Creative

Many people start a blog simply for fun. Perhaps a blogger is a fan of a particular actor or loves knitting and wants to share that passion through a blog. One of the most important keys to successful blogging is having a passion about your blog's topic, so you can write prolifically about it. Some of the best and most interesting blogs started out as blogs that were written just for fun and to give the blogger a creative outlet.

...One of the reasons there are so many blogs is because people can make money blogging. There are several ways to make money by blogging. Read on to learn how to get paid to blog.

Make a list of your interests and hobbies. Brainstorm topics that you could blog about.

Focus on the reason you would like to start a blog. Some people blog to become semi-famous on the Internet, some blog for fun while others blog to help their careers.

Sign up for a blog with a blogging service. There are many to select from but I prefer Blogger (blogspot)

Look into paid posting opportunities such as the Pay Per Post website, SponsoredReviews, Blogsvertise, Loulaunch, and Socialspark. Each of these will pay you for posting an advertisement or opinion about a product on your blog.

Tips & Warnings:

:To sign up for a paid posting service, your blog must be at least 90 days old and approved by the service. Check each website for specific details.

:The most successful bloggers are passionate and knowledgeable about their subject. Think about what you are most passionate and knowledgeable about and then you have got a winning subject.

:Comment on other people's blogs to encourage them to come visit your blog and get more traffic.

:Be patient, it can take awhile for a blog to become successful.

What DO They Know???

I face the world with a smile, no one
knows what is hide inside.
They see only happiness, they cant see
the tears I’ve cried.
When I am alone I hurt, because here I
do it well.
In front of all the watchful eyes my
heaven turns to hell.
The judge and jury awaits me, everyone
has a say.
In a life that hangs suspended for yet
another day.
Who are they to judge if what I have
done is right or wrong?
In the end I gave him up, but inside
still sing his song.
I don’t know how to find the strength
I thought I had.
If only I could play tough it wouldn’t
be so bad.
They say that life goes on and someday
I’ll smile again.
But, how do they know my pain without
being where I’ve been?
I’ve traveled so far from home, and
can’t find my way back.
Somewhere along the way I must have
jumped the track.
I saw him just today and his smile is
still the same.
He looked at me so sweetly, but never
spoke my name.
I wonder if he remembers me, It hasn’t
been that long.
He may have forgotten me, but I still
sing his song…..

Final Rain

You mutter goodbye
And run away, leaving my umbrella behind
Sadness rains down, covering the town in a silver fog
But it can’t erase you
I ran after you and just held you
So you wouldn’t get wet in the final rain
And closed my eyes

I’m not going to love someone so much it brings me to tears
If it’ll just be forgotten
If you’re under someone’s spell
I want to hold you so tight that I crush you

You spread out your loose hair
And wrapped my night in it; you’re such a sweet guy…
When a wave of anxiety carried you away like a sandcastle
Did you wish someone was there?
All I taught you was how to pretend to be strong
Your smile no longer holds a dream we share

I’m not going to love someone so much it brings me to tears
If it’ll just be forgotten
Even your lips as they say goodbye
Are mine, I won’t forget you

Even though the love that can save you tomorrow
Isn’t mine
I’ll still keep gazing at you like this

I can’t put my love into words
I can’t connect to you with words
My love for you has nowhere to go, but it won’t stop
I threw away my umbrella and looked up at the rain

I’m not going to love someone so much it brings me to tears
If it’ll just be forgotten
If you’re under someone’s spell
I want to hold you so tight that I crush you
